Governor Emmanuel Udaughan , yesterday declared that the defection of some aggrieved PDP members who could not win the dovernorship primary will not in any way affect the party’s chances of emerging victorious in the February general elections.
He, however revealed that efforts are being made to reconcile all the aggrieved members, especially with the visit of President Goodluck Jonathan to the PDP governorship rally in Asaba Wednesday.
Uduaghan who made the declaration yesterday during an interactive session with the media in Warri, however pleaded with the people of the state to play politics devoid of rancor and bitterness. “PDP will still emerge victorious in the general elections however, I plead with all eligible voters to get their permanent voters card as it is the only way they can choose their leaders”, the governor stated.
On the suspended BRT road project along the Effurun – Jacpa Junction, the governor disclosed that work will soon resume and blamed the situation on financial constraints, adding that the project was not abandoned. Commenting on the environmental situation of Warri and other areas, Uduaghan, said that the oil city and other areas are becoming cleaner than they were and pleaded with the people to maintain the cleanliness.
