Liverpool have now made it 2 wins, 2 clean sheet and 6 goals in just two matches from the opening campaign. There have been early suggestions that they would mount a serious challenge to Manchester City’s hope of retaining the premiership this season. And performance like this, seems to be validating such assertion.
What makes the win so interesting is that with Crystal Palace’s attacking mindset, they were unable to find a way past the Liverpool defence which now look assured with their record signing Van Dijk at the helms.
This same Liverpool team was conceding cheap goals at ease last season. They even collapsed after making a strong start to the premiership league campaign last season by conceding cheap goals. But since their acquisition of Van Dijk, they have now look more assured at the back.

#CRYLIV great result. Not beautiful flowing football, but showed other likeable aspects of our game. Keeper assured, defence looked solid with VVD outstanding. Cdnt say that this time last year.. #lfc

I genuinely thought tonight for about 15-20 mins in that second half that we would concede. The pressure was building. It's credit to Klopp, the players & the new mentality that we didn't where as 3/4 years ago we would have, no doubt. #DoubtersToBelievers #LFC #MNF #CRYLIV

@CPFC looking like it’s going to be a tough away fixture this season. Looking solid at the back, and fullbacks + forwards combining well on the counter #CRYLIV
