The Delta State Police Command’s CP-Special Assignment team has raided suspected kidnappers’ hideouts, arresting one suspect and seizing an AK-47 rifle, firearms, and 13 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition.
SP Bright Edafe, the state Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed this in a press statement released to journalists in Warri on Tuesday.
According to the statement, on March 26, 2025, the operatives, led by the team’s commander, ASP Julius Robinson, extended their investigation to Rivers State while following the trail of some suspected kidnappers.

The team pursued a fleeing suspected kidnapper, Chedeye Mohammed, and eventually apprehended him.
“Upon interrogation, the suspect led the operatives to a bush after a trailer park in River State where they hid their weapons”, the police statement read.
It stated that police recovered an AK-47 rifle loaded with 13 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition from the suspect.
The police spokesman revealed that an initial investigation showed the suspect and his gang operated in Ughelli, Agbarho, and other areas of the state before retreating to Rivers State.
The PPRO confirmed that efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining gang members.
