Hardship: Angry Gombe Residents Loot Ramadan Food Items Branded ‘Seyi Tinubu’

Tuesday, 25 March 2025

Some angry residents of Gombe State have looted Ramadan palliatives allegedly distributed by Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

INFORMATION NIGERIA learnt that Seyi has been touring some Northern states, organizing Ramadan feeding programs for the less privileged amid economic hardship facing the country.

In a viral video making waves on social media, captured youths raiding a truck loaded with food items, including rice, sugar, oil, salt, and pasta, said to be own by Tinubu’s son on Sunday.

The truck was overpowered at one of the popular junctions known as old Bauchi Motor Park, along Gombe-Bauchi Road.

Seyi Tinubu was earlier scheduled to visit Gombe State last week in continuation of his nationwide tour, but the exercise was later cancelled for an undisclosed reason.

Recall that in a recent statement by Shamsuddeen Bala Mohammed, the son of Bauchi State Governor, criticised Seyi’s initiative, urging him to roll-out sustainable empowerment programs.

He said: “Please, when coming to Bauchi for the #RHYE, empower our youths with employment, Keke NAPEP, monies to start a business, ICT infrastructure and training for crypto trading, and so on.

“Please, we, the youths of Bauchi, don’t need rice and food in nylon bags during Ramadan.

“Teach our youths how to fish rather than feed them for one day. They are not beggars.”
