Anambra State local security agency, identified as Agunechemba, have allegedly uncovered 30 graves and a shrine within the premises of a popular hotel in Oba, Idemili South Local Government Area of the state.
INFORMATION NIGERIA reports that the discovery was made on Saturday, at La Cruise Hotel, located along Onitsha-Owerri Road.
Reacting to the development in a statement on Sunday, Ejimofor Opera, an aide to the Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Soludo, stated that the establishment has been demolished in line with the Anambra State Homeland Security Law.
He said: “The demolition of a kidnappers’ den disguised as Udoka Golden Point Hotel and Suites, also known as ‘La Cruise Hotel’, along Onitsha-Owerri Road, is underway.”
Also speaking over the development, Christian Aburime, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Soludo, in an interview with Sahara Reporters on Sunday, said that the demolition was carried out on Saturday, after investigations revealed that the hotel has been confirmed to be kidnappers’ den.

He said: “The hotel was destroyed because of investigation leading to that place as being the kidnappers’ den.
“A lot of things were discovered there – graves, army uniform, live cartridges and something like that.
“In short, after the hotel was brought down the community people were happy because they had been complaining that every night they heard gunshots there.
“You know the people who should be giving the government information about these criminal activities were afraid, because if you give credible report someone who knows you will say you are the one who told the police.
“But with this Homeland Security Law 2025 now in place and everything that the government has put in place, it will be much easier to get these criminals and flush them out of Anambra state.
“We are making serious progress ridding the state of criminals and we must commend this drastic action the government has taken.
“It is already yielding positive results. More buildings will be destroyed if there are links that they are connected to any kidnapping, robbery and hired killers, especially kidnapping.
“The house will be brought down and the owner will be prosecuted.”
