Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike of Rivers State on Friday hosted The Sultan of Sokoto, His Royal Eminence, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar.
Sultan of Sokoto visited the Ada George, Port Harcourt residence of Wike, shortly after he arrived at the Port Harcourt International Airport.
The two distinguished leaders held a closed-door meeting.
Abubakar was in Port Harcourt to declare open the Federation of Muslim Women’s Association in Nigeria (FOMWAN) 37th Annual National Conference.
After the PDP presidential primaries held in Abuja, which Wike lost to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, the Rivers State Governor has been hugging the headlines for controversial and developmental reasons.
The State has seen several dignitaries inaugurate different projects at different times. Governor Wike, according to analysts, score a high mark in the infrastructural development of Rivers State.
