Nigerian Idol: Fans Blast Organizers For Keeping Comfort On The Show

The organizers of singing reality competition, Nigerian Idol have been made to feel the heat after the elimination of Faith Jason on Sunday leaving Comfort in the Top Four.

Many fans of the show have criticized the system of retaining contestants on the sixth season of show.

Comfort,18, has received massive criticisms for her weekly performances which has been described as mediocre at best and cringeworthy.

On the Africa Magic YouTube channel where her performances are uploaded, majority of commenters say that the show is fast losing its credibility.

Comfort has also been accused of getting sympathy votes from the public.

Eddie Chimaobi wrote: “Nigerian idols i assure you that the stupid 5 minutes publicity you hope to achieve from keeping this incompetent singer. Would hunt you by next year as your views would drop massively!!!!!!!!!”

The competition has gotten far stronger than her. No hard feelings but Comfort has to leave the show. Good singers can no longer be traded for her,” wrote Vidmix Music Island.

Ugochukwu Bridget wrote: “Like losing faith to comfort is really disheartening and disappointing cos some people are been sentimental with voting and not seeing through that the show is about talent and vocals!!”

Michael Akin wrote:

“Please what is this, I never saw anything in this lady from the start. Her getting into the competition was all Seyi’s sentiments to begin with. Company of sentimental voters too. Absolutely no voice to be here, yes she has potential but this is not a way to encourage her. She should be sent home to learn and come back later. That’s encouragement. I can’t imagine that she’ll even post on her Instagram page “top 4 Nigerian idol””

If this is top 4 at the Nigerian Idol, then the quality is way too poor and needs to be questioned for a singing competition. So barbaric,” wrote Daniel Degema.
