The Nigerian Army has announced that it will engage the services of the Chadian and Cameroonian troops to end the insurgency in the country.

The Chief of Army Staff, Ibrahim Attahiru, made this known while addressing troops at the Army Supercamp 1 Ngamdu, Yobe state, on Monday.

Speaking, Attahiru said the army will bring in Chadians and Cameroonian soldiers to ensure the annihilation of the insurgents in the north-east soonest.

The army chief noted that the major thing before him is to tackle the insurgency and decimate the insurgents, thereby ending the war soon.

Attahiru added that the welfare challenges and lack of equipment being faced by the troops will also be addressed very soon.

He also urged the troops to put in greater efforts in the fight against insurgency and make sure that they are professionals in whatever they do.
