Newly re-elected Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki has stated that he is not nursing ambitions to run for senate after the expiration of his second term in office.

Obaseki made this known on Tuesday when he appeared on The Morning Show on ARISE TV.

The Nigerian Senate is seen as the retirement home for many former Governors in Nigeria with no less than 13 former governors currently in the 9th Assembly.

Reacting to the rumours that he is nursing an ambition to run for Senate in 2024, the governor said he didn’t have any ambition to go into Senate, rather he would go into teaching.

He said, ”I want to go back and impart knowledge, I have been an effective governor.”
