Popular social media commentator and a former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has stated that the unrest in Bayelsa can be likened to the comment by the national chairman of the All Progressive Congress(APC), Adams Oshiomhole.
Speaking via his Twitter handle, Omokri stated that Oshiomhole is just trying to destroy Nigeria the way he ‘destroyed the APC.’
Oshiomhole had vowed that Douye Diri would not be sworn in as governor of the state for failing to meet the minimum requirement.

Since his swearing-in, violence has erupted in the state with his residence destroyed by protesters.
He wrote:
The unrest in Bayelsa is directly linked to the irresponsible comments of Adams Oshiomhole. Not content with destroying the @OfficialAPCNg, Oshiomhole wants to destroy Nigeria. Since the Nigerian authorities will not do anything, I hope @CIJ_ICJis taking note#
