A fire outbreak has destroyed goods worth millions of naira at Atakumosa Central Market, Adeti, Ilesha, in Osun State.
According to reports, the inferno which started around 1 am affected several shops located at the entrance of the market but was later subdued through the combined efforts of the police and firemen.

Speaking with Punch, the Administrative Officer of Osun State Fire Service, Fatai Aremu, said despite early response to the distress call, barriers at the entrance of the affected shops did not allow the firemen access.
As at the time of filing this report, the fire has been subdued by the joint effort of the fire service and police officers.
