Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun has said that citizens are not supposed to live in fear in their country or state, as it would have an adverse effect on the economy of the count. The Ogun governor state said that there is the need to boost the level of security on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, which is one of the most used highways in the country. We Will Not Call Witnesses To Defend Atiku’s Petition – INEC Tells Presidential Tribunal

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, says it would not call on any witness to defend the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and its candidate, Atiku Abubakar’s petition challenging the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari in the February 23 presidential election. The electoral body had been asked by the Justice Mohammed Garba-led five-member panel tribunal on July 19, to open its defence to the petition.

Why FG Proscribed Shiite Group – Presidency

Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on media and publicity, Garba Shehu has  given an explanation as to the proscription of Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), also known as Shiites. According to Mr Garba, the ban has nothing to do with other peaceful and law abiding Shiites in the country from practicing their religion. In a statement in Abuja on Sunday, the presidency said they had to proscribe the group to put an end to wanton violence, murder and willful destruction of public and private property.

Send List Of Ministerial Nominees To EFCC – PDP Tells Senate

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has asked the Senate to send the ministerial nominee list to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to give its screening credibility. This was made known in a statement on Monday night by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan. According to the opposition party, many said many of the nominees presented to it by President Muhammadu Buhari have serious allegations of corruption, abuse of office and stealing of public funds against them.

Kidnappers Reduce Siasia’s Mother’s Ransom To N50 Million

The ransom of Samson Siasia’s mother, Mrs Beauty Ogere Siasia has been reduced from N70million to N50million by her abductors. Shortly after his 79-year-old mother was kidnapped, Siasia, a former Super Eagles striker and coach, and his family reportedly begged her abductors to accept N500, 000, explaining he has been out of job for sometime now.

Masquerades Remanded In Prison For Attacking Police Station

Some masquerades have been remanded in prison by a magistrate’s court in Makurdi, capital of Benue state, for allegedly attacking a police station in Ado local government area of the state. According to Veronica Shaagee, the prosecution counsel, the case was transferred from the divisional police headquarters, Ado local government, to state criminal investigation department, Makurdi, through letter number 3100/BNS/ADO/VOL.T/ dated July 24, 2019.
