The People’s Democratic Party(PDP) has alleged that witnesses of the party and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar were attacked on Friday by unknown gunmen. According to the party, the witnesses will not be able to testify at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal for the PDP.
3 Arrested For Alleged Kidnapping, Killing Of 5-Year-Old Boy In Kano
The Police in Kano state have arrested three men for allegedly kidnapping and killing a 5-year-old boy in the state. The suspects — Ibrahim Ahmad,20, Abdumajid Mohammed,18, and Musa Sanusi, 18— allegedly kidnapped the deceased, Ahmad Ado, at Ma’ahat Nursery and Primary School, Karkasara
Cows Embedded In The New Nigerian Passport For Spiritual Reasons: Fani-Kayode
Achieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), Femi Fani-Kayode has also raised concerns about the new Nigerian passport which has cows and a Fulani embedded in it. The former aviation minister in a tweet on Thursday morning, said that embedding such in the pages of the new passport has spiritual and symbolic reasons.
I’m Not A Rubber Stamp Senate President, I Will Tackle Buhari’s Govt — Lawan
Senate President Ahmad Lawan on Friday reassured that he will not be a “rubber stamp” to the President Muhammadu Buhari. This was made known by Mohammed Isa, a media aide to Lawan, as he quoted the senate president as saying this when he received Women Parliamentarians, led by Joy Emordi, a former senator representing Anambra north.
Feud Between Obaseki, Oshiomhole Escalating – Oba of Benin
The Oba of Benin, Ewuare II, on Friday called for the intervention into the ongoing escalating feud betweenAdams Oshiomhole, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress(APC) and Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki. The Oba said this when he received members of the House of Representatives ad-hoc committee set up to look into the Edo Assembly crisis.
Court Sacks Sowore As AAC National Chairman
A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, on Friday, has sacked Omoyele Sowore as the National Chairman of the African Action Congress, AAC. In delivering its judgement, Justice Iyang Ekwo, said it was satisfied that Sowore who was the presidential flag-bearer of the AAC, was validly suspended by the National Executive Committee, NEC, of the party.
Generator Fumes kill Seven Family Members In Rivers
Seven members of a family in Elele town, in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State have been killed by generator fumes. It was gathered that the deceased lived in an estate popularly known as Too Much Money.
NANS Threatens To Shut Down DSTV, MTN, South African Embassy Over Xenophobia
The leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) issued a threat to shut down the South African Embassy in Nigeria. According to NANS, they would also shut down DSTV and MTN, and other South Africans businesses operating in Nigeria.
Protesters Storm Imo Government House; Demand Probe Of Okorocha’s Administration
Over 1000 protesters on Thursday stormed the Government House, Owerri, demanding that the immediate past Governor Rochas Okorocha be probed for allegedly looting up to N200 billion worth of state funds and assets. Town unions of 645 autonomous communities in Imo State, leaders and members of some socio-cultural organisations and students’ bodies, among others made up the protesters.

The Court of Appeal, Abuja Division on Friday dismissed a suit, challenging the candidacy of President Muhammadu Buhari on grounds of academic qualification. In the judgement, the court held that the application was brought outside the specified time for pre-election matters.
Assembly Did Well To Reject My Commissioner Nominee – el-Rufai
The governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai on Friday said that the State House of Assembly was right over the rejection of one of the Commissioner-nominees. The Speaker of the House, Aminu Shagali had on Thursday rejected Aliyu Jaafar, nominated by el-Rufai as the Commissioner for Agriculture over his consistent criticism of El-Rufai’s administration from 2017.
‘Nigerians Hate Truth’ – Femi Fani-Kayode Laments On Incessant Killings
Former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has taken to his Twitter handle to lament about the attitude of Nigerians towards issues affecting the nation. Femi Fani-Kayode expressed that the greatest weakness of Nigerians is the hatred for truth and this he believes coupled with the inability to empathise are major challenges to accepting that Nigeria is failing as a nation.
