Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state walked the Chief Judge (CJ) of the state, Justice Nasir Ajanah out of a state function on Tuesday.
This happened at the Government House Lokoja during the swearing-in of the new Grand Khadi of the state.
The function which was attended by top government officials and members of judiciary, saw the governor asking the CJ to leave.
According to reports, the CJ, had been officially invited by the protocol officer of the Government House, and long arrived before the governor got to the event.
It was alleged that a few minutes before the governor’s arrival, his Chief Security Officer allegedly informed the CJ that he governor had given order that h shouldn’t be allowed to attend the function.
The Chief Justice was said to have immediately left the venue and went back to his office.
The CJ thereafter left the government house and returned to his office.
There has been an ongoing face-off between the executive and the judiciary in the state, following disagreements as a of table payment of judicial staff.
