New report has confirmed that the Supreme Court has ruled that PDP won the March 9th governorship election in Zamfara state.
The apex court upheld the Court of Appeal in Sokoto’s ruling and while delivering judgement in the appeal filed by the PDP, the court upheld that APC was not eligible to contest as they did not conduct any governorship primaries ahead of the governorship election.
The court on Friday decided that APC had no valid candidate and thus did not emerge winner of the recently conducted general elections.
APC’s candidate, Mukhtar Idris, had been was declared winner of the elections after he polled 534,541 votes. The PDP candidate who came second in the election will now be sworn in as the governor of the state on Wednesday, May 29th.
