BREAKING: Liberian president forced out of office by snakes

Liberian President George Weah has been forced out of his office by snakes.

According to Smith Toby, the president’s press secretary who spoke with BBC on Wednesday, two black snakes were discovered in the foreign affairs ministry building, where the president works from leading to staff being told to stay away from work until 22 April.

Toby said;

“It’s just to make sure that crawling and creeping things get fumigated from the building. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosts the office of the president, so it did an internal memo asking the staff to stay home while they do the fumigation.”

The president’s office has since 2006 been in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs building after a massive fire wrecked the presidential mansion.

Toby added that;

“The snakes were never killed. There was a little hole somewhere [through which] they made their way back.”

“That building’s been there for years now, and [because of] the drainage system, the possibility of having things like snakes crawling in that building was high.”

The president is set to return to his office come Monday.
