Okorocha in deep mess only because statues don’t vote – ex aide

Friday 15 March 2019

Bestselling author and popular political commentator, Reno Omokri has taken a slight swipe at outgoing Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha over his latest predicament.

Okorocha, unlike other senators and House of Reps members elect, wasn’t invited to collect his certificate of return, after allegations that he had held his state’s Returning officer hostage, and prevailed on him to declare result under duress.

The Independent National Electoral Commission,INEC had made it clear that it wouldn’t give certificate of return to any candidate, who held their official(s) hostage and made them announce  results under duress. And made good that promise.

Omokri, while reacting to Okorocha’s situation mocked him for not being voted by the statues he built during his tenure as governor – Having failed to invest in people but in statues.

See statement below

As for Rochas, his situation would have been different only if statues could vote. By now, he would have been a Senator-elect and his son in law would have been a Governor-elect. I hope he has learnt his lesson. Invest in real people not statues.

Rochas blames Oshiomhole and Uzodinma for his predicaments. How shortsighted. Does Rochas think both Adams and Hope acted on their own? Rochas should ask Buhari what he meant by ‘remote control’ when the President confessed to how APC won Osun state.
