The Scottish side, Rangers, played host to Russian outfit,FC Ufa, in their Europa league qualifier last night and emerged victorious by a lone to nil. Ranger headed into the game with a nine matches unbeaten streak under their belt since Gerard took over.
They faced FC Ufa,who are competing in the competition for the first time and were in superb form before the meeting. They(FC Ufa) had dispatched Luxembourg and Domzale before the encounter with Rangers.
Steven Gerrard’s side bossed the highest shared of possession, but were unable to put more than one goal pass the resolute Russian oufit.
The two sides would now meet next week Thursday in the second leg of the qualifying series.
