Three persons were confirmed dead by the Lagos State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Mr. Hyginus Omeje, on Saturday evening, along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
According to eyewitnesses, the crash occurred at about 6pm after a speeding commercial bus ran into a parked truck.
Omeje confirmed that FRSC officers responded after an emergency call reported the incident.
He said, “It involved two vehicles — a white Toyota Hiace bus and a MAN Diesel truck with a white cabin and black rear. The total number of people involved in the crash is 15 — 11 males, three females and one child, out of which two males and the child died. Twelve others were injured.
“The victims were rushed to Broadlight Hospital around Ibafo and Divine Touch Hospital. Our ambulance is taking the dead victims to the morgue at Sagamu Teaching Hospital, as we speak.”
