Inter Milan are set to announce the signing of Geoffrey Kondogbia from Monaco.
The 22-year-old arrived the Angelo Moratti Sports Centre on Monday for medical after both sides had agreed a transfer fee, reported to be 35m euros (£25m). He is thought to have agreed a five-year deal with the Serie A club.
Kondogbia’s impending transfer comes as a heartbreak for several clubs including Manchester City and Arsenal, who had shown interest in the France international.
He has made 49 appearances for Monaco, following his arrival from Spanish side Sevilla in August 2013.
The forward featured in both legs of Monaco’s second round win over Arsenal in the 2014-15 Uefa Champions League.
Coach Roberto Mancini is keen to boost his squad in time for the new season after the Nerazzurri finished a distant eighth position this season.
