One Year Anniversary: We’ll Never Forget Our Chibok Daughters — Muazu

Wednesday, 15 April 2015

ADAMU MUAZUNational Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Adamu Muazu, has vowed that government will never give up on their rescue.

The girls, 276 in number, were abducted from their hostel in Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State, by Boko Haram gunmen on the night of April 14, 2014 exactly a year ago. However, some of them managed to escape leaving 219 of them, still unaccounted for.

The tragic abduction of the girls, has attracted local and international attention with the PDP-led federal government receiving most of the blame for not swooping into action, despite the existence of a state of emergency in Borno at the time.

In a statement to commemorate the one year anniversary of the Chibok girls’ abduction, President-elect Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday cautioned he could not make promises on the return of the 219 schoolgirls.

In tweets, which he personally signed off with his initials via his official Twitter handle, the PDP chairman said: “We remember our Chibok daughters who were abducted about a year ago. Government will never give up on their rescue. #AM”

He added, “We can never forget & will never forget our Chibok daughters. #AM”.
