Nigeria’s cadet women national teams, Falconets and Flamingoes have been handed an easy passage to their respective forthcoming FIFA women’s tournaments.
Canada 2014 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Silver winning team, Nigeria’s Falconets will battle either Liberia or Sierra Leone for the Papua New Guinea 2016 World Cup.
According to the draws conducted by Confederation of African Football (CAF), Falconets would equally try to see off either Namibia ,DR Congo or Gabon in the second round of the qualification series to be held in July 2016.
Falconets would also face familiar foes South Africa for the African slot for the Papua New Guinea tournament.
Meanwhile, Flamingoes had been handed an easy ride to their fifth 2016 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Jordan.
Flamingoes who were drawn bye in the preliminary rounds would square off with the winners between Botswana and Namibia in the first round of qualifiers.
Nigeria would be gunning for their fifth appearance in the Championship when they begin the battle for Jordan 2016 early January next year.
In march 2016, South Africa or Zambia will stake their neck to wrestle the ticket from Nigeria in the second round of the qualifiers..
Nigeria had made it to the quarter final stages in their last three outings hosted by Costa Rica, Trinidad and Tobago plus Azerbaijan respectively.
Flamingoes lost to Korea Republic in 2010, France in 2012, both on penalties, and Spain in 2014.
Africa would present three teams for this competition billed for the Asian country.
