Ondo PDP: Oke pledges support for Mimiko

Chieftain and Peoples Demo­cratic Party’s (PDP) candi­date in the October 2012 gubernatorial election in Ondo State, Chief Olusola Oke has promised to work closely with the governor of the state and southwest co­ordinator of Goodluck Jona­than campaign organization, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, to­wards ensuring overwhelm­ing victory for President Jonathan in the February 14 presidential election.


Chief Oke who rode in the official jeep of the gov­ernor to attend separate inter­active meetings with mem­bers of the State Artisans and Traders Union (OSATU), the National Union of Road workers Union (NURTW), Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RE­TEAN ) and the Amalgamat­ed Commercial Motorcycle Riders Association of Ni­geria (ACOMORAN) with Governor Mimiko at the State Cultural Centre in Akure said the era of dark­ness was over in the state chapter of the party, stress­ing that the party is united to deliver the state for President Jonathan.


The meeting, which also had in attendance some leaders of the PDP in the state, including Hon. Kings­ley Kuku, Princess Oladunni Odu, the chairman of the par­ty in the state, Chief Clement Faboyede, the chief of staff to Governor Mimiko, Dr Kola Ademujimi and Prince John Ola Mafo among oth­ers, unanimously adopted the re-election of Dr Good­luck Jonathan for a second term in office.


According to Chief Oke, “we are for the good of Ondo State, I want to let you know that PDP is destined to rule and I want to beg you not to listen to rumour and what­ever the opposition is say­ing. The era of darkness has disappeared in Ondo State. Jonathan has done well for the southwest and we shall ensure that he is returned to office. You all know what governor Mimiko got in 2012 and the number votes I also got and by putting the votes together, Victory is sure for PDP”.


Speaking at the event, Governor Mimiko assured the groups that the re-election of President Jon­athan would enable him to do more for the people of the southwest, calling on them to obtain their permanent voters cards to enable them vote for Jonathan and other candidates of the party in the State.
