Abia state governorship candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in the February 28 polls, Dr. Alex Otti has said he is coming into government to wipe away the tears of Abia people who he said had suffered immeasurably in the past.

Otti stated that Abians had suffered in the hands of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) –led government in the state to the point that if not for the mercies of God, people would be dying everyday from hunger occasioned by maladministration.

Otti who stated this at Isiala South during the flag off campaign of Chief Ahamdi Nweke, the APGA senatorial candidate for Abia Central said apart from bringing misery to the people of the state, that the leadership of PDP was behaving as if there were no people in the state in that one man was allowed to corner all elective positions in the state from governorship to State House of Assembly.

“I had a lucrative job I was doing, but I came into this race to bless the children of Abia and indeed all Abians so that they will not suffer the way we suffered.

“There are so many suffering in the state today and if not for the mercy of God, people of the state would have been dying in their numbers of hunger and this was caused by bad leadership.”

He said if he wins the February 28 election, as a way of ameliorating the sufferings of the people, that his government would construct a road from Arochukwu to Ukwa West, emphasising that within two years of his administration, he would tackle the problem of Aba to the point many will not recognise the city again.

The APGA governorship candidate said that what Abia state needed at this time of its crass under development and dwindling oil revenue was a man like him who had the connection and could access funds from world financial institutions to turn around the state.
