Youths condemns recent killing of students in Yobe

Friday 28 February 2014

The Youth Wing, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), on Thursday condemned the recent killing of students in Yobe and called for proactive measures to stop such attacks.

The National President, Pastor Simon Dolly, said in Abuja that government should urgently address the situation before it consumed the country.

According to him, the killings in the country is becoming too frequent, saying government needs to increase its security measures in the troubled states.

“This is very unfortunate and very barbaric, how can people go and be killing innocent students?

“If the killing continues in this country, it may lead to a lot of crisis,’’ Dolly said.

He said peace was essential for any meaningful development in any country.

Dolly said more needed to be done in terms of protecting lives and property as well as ensuring that no more lives were lost.

“The Federal Government should do something fast before it is too late; this should include beefing up its security measures in those affected states,’’ he urged.

More than 29 students children were killed in their sleep when unidentified gunmen attacked the Federal Government College Buni Yadi, Yobe. (NAN)
