Falling down under anointing
It is not uncommon to see members of a Christian congregation falling down after their pastor/deacon lays hand on them. Nigerians on nairaland.com share their experiences.
Harmony940: Hmm, everybody will be falling down because of the hot anointing, but the camera man is not being affected by anointing. Na wah oooo! Anointing no dey catch camera man abi? Anyway, may God help us in this part of the world.
Glamglam: How would one know if people are falling under anointing or just overwhelmed or generally faking it? I have also noticed that women are the ones that generally fall a lot! I’m not saying some men don’t fall!
25Calibre: I have observed that what these pastors do is to hold people’s heads and blow air from their mouth on their heads while shouting prayers at them, some will fall down, others won’t. These so-called pastors make attempts to apply some force and push their congregants to make them fall.
Venezuelan hair
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has called on the police to act against gangs that are stealing women’s hair. The thieves sell the hair after sometimes stealing them at gunpoint.
Comments:
25 calibre: Sad day for our black women, especially Nigerian women. They would have to shell out good money to buy these Brazilian and Venezuelan weave-on. I don’t know why they don’t appreciate their God-given hair.
Cycline404: I knew this kind of thing will one day happen. Criminal gangs steal people’s hair and ship them to Nigeria. I wonder maybe the natural hair on our women’s hair in Nigeria is animal hair and why they feel inferior wearing their natural hair. In fact, if I had my way the last one I bought for my babe I go collect am back!
Chelaseaguy: This is so funny yet serious. I guess some of those hairs on our girls’ heads are stolen too. Just hope the mafia won’t be traced back to Nigeria.

New naira notes
The Central Bank of Nigeria will take delivery of new naira notes before the end of September for circulation. The smaller denomination notes, N5, N10, N20, and N50, currently on polymer are expected to be reprinted on paper.
Comments: (punchng.com and nairaland.com)
Tolexander: Everything in Nigeria is just unstable! The silly aspect of this matter is that after few years, the government may decide to revert to the polymer, telling us statistics showed them Nigerians prefer the polymer to paper!
Musa Olaiwon: Nigeria as a nation is not serious. May the God of the poor people fight for the masses and rescue them from those who are oppressing them left, right and centre.
JJ: A nation without aims and objectives is just like a stagnant water.
Obasanjo’s peace move
Reports say the efforts of former President Olusegun Obasanjo to douse the tension among the governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party have failed.
Comments:
Ozaoluko: Nigeria Governors’ Forum madness needs to stop. Is this forum constitutional? They all campaigned for gubernatorial positions — not members of the NGF. Many captains, they say, sink a ship.
The Peoples Democratic Party has their governors’ forum while Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau State and Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, who are both in the PDP, are fighting for the leadership of a forum that adds no value to the masses. They should return to their various states and finish their tenure.
