The Yobe State Police Command at Gujba Divisional Police Headquarters has uncovered and dismantled a kidnapping hideout, rescuing two abducted individuals and seizing an AK-47 rifle during the operation.
In a statement released on Sunday, the police said their operatives collaborated closely with local vigilante groups as part of ongoing efforts to maintain security throughout the state.
The statement said, “Following a distress call from an eyewitness in Buni Yadi. The police, with crucial community support, swiftly identified the den and stormed the location after a gun battle.

“While the culprits escaped with injuries, they abandoned the victims and left behind the AK-47 rifle with two magazines loaded with 25 rounds of ammunition.”
The statement further said, “The victims were rescued unhurt and taken to the hospital for medical checkups.”
Commissioner of Police, CP Emmanuel Ado, praised the officers who participated in the operation.
He also reaffirmed his dedication to working closely with community members to protect lives and property.
“Efforts are underway to apprehend the fleeing culprits for subsequent prosecution,” the statement concluded, underscoring the police’s unwavering commitment to justice.
