Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly called Davido, has met with veteran Nigerian highlife musician Bright Chimezie in Lagos.
Video shared on Instagram Monday show Davido exchanging warm greetings and engaging in a lively chat with the legendary musician known for his unique “Zigima” style.
This in-person meeting comes after a recent video call in which Davido honored Chimezie and acknowledged that his 2018 song “Because of English” inspired Davido’s latest track “With You,” featuring Omah Lay.

“I got inspiration from your song, God bless you” Davido said during the call, which was posted by nightlife mogul Cubana Chief Priest.
While talking, Davido shared a sneak peek of the “With You” music video with Chimezie and kindly invited him to Lagos, expressing, “It would be great to meet you in person.”
Bright Chimezie remarked kindly, commending the song as a “beautiful piece of work” and thanking Davido for the tribute.
