Grammy-nominated R&B singer Angie Stone, known for her soulful voice and hit song Wish I Didn’t Miss You, tragically passed away in a car accident early Saturday.
She was also recognised for her early career as a member of the pioneering all-female hip-hop trio The Sequence.
She was 63 years old at the time of her passing.

According to music producer Walter Millsap III, who spoke to The Associated Press via email, Angie Stone was involved in an accident around 4 am while returning to Atlanta from Alabama.
The vehicle she was in lost control, flipped over, and was subsequently struck by a big rig.
The heartbreaking news was confirmed on social media by the three-time Grammy nominee’s daughter, Diamond Stone.
“My mummy is gone,” Diamond Stone wrote on Facebook.
The news of Angie Stone’s passing was also confirmed by her representative, Deborah R. Champagne.
