‘Stop Insulting Tinubu, Akume’ – APC North Central Warns Aggrieved Members

Saturday, 8 February 2025

George Akume
The All Progressives Congress (APC) North Central chapter has issued a stern warning to aggrieved members and groups, urging them to cease from denigrating top party leaders.

In a joint statement on Saturday, National Vice Chairman of APC North Central, Mu’azu Bawa Rijau, and Zonal Secretary, Yakubu Adamu, condemned the recent attacks on President Bola Tinubu, National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume.

“The zonal party leadership wish to condemn and unequivocally reject this development. We make bold to say that these groups are not only unrecognised, they are nothing but usurpers and interlopers.

The statement further warned that failure to desist from insulting party leaders would attract “the full weight of the law.”

Rotimi Amaechi, a former Minister of Transportation, had earlier cautioned Nigerians to be prepared to defend their mandate in the forthcoming 2027 election, saying politicians, including the current president, will not cede power easily and will do whatever it takes—including stealing, maiming and killing—to remain in power.

Amaechi stated, “Politicians, including the current president, will not cede power easily… they will do whatever it takes—including stealing, maiming and killing—to remain in power.”

Nasir El-Rufai, a former Governor of Kaduna State, also criticized the party, saying it has become a “zero-man show.”

El-Rufai urged opposition parties to unite and form a broad coalition to challenge the ruling party and protect democracy.

The APC North Central chapter also passed a vote of confidence on its leaders, praising their contributions to the party’s growth.

The chapter said: “We reaffirmed our unalloyed loyalty to the ideals, vision and mission of the founding fathers and pray for the continued success of President Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope Agenda.'”
