The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has criticized President Bola Tinubu’s New Year message, stating that it “offers no hope in sight” for Nigerians.
According to Debo Ologunagba, PDP spokesperson, the President’s speech was “self-satisfying” and failed to address the economic hardship in the country.
Ologunagba, in a statement on Wednesday, noted that Tinubu’s administration is “completely disconnected and unconcerned” with the challenges faced by Nigerians.
“Nigerians were appalled that despite the prodding by the PDP and well-meaning citizens, President Tinubu’s New Year speech did not articulate any specific direction for the nation or proffer solutions to the myriad of problems caused by APC’s misrule,” he said.

The PDP spokesperson emphasized that the President’s speech lacked a clear “plan to address unemployment,” reduce the price of petroleum products, and revamp the “ailing productive sector.”
“If indeed the APC administration has the interest of Nigerians at heart, the New Year address would have made definite pronouncements on the price of fuel,” Ologunagba said.
Furthermore, Ologunagba stated that Nigerians have lost faith in Tinubu’s administration and are eagerly waiting for the next round of elections.
He urged the President to listen to Nigerians and focus on their welfare and security.
