Former governor of Edo State, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, has commended Peoples Democratic Party, for allowing Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike work for President Bola Tinubu’s government.
Speaking on Friday at a New Year luncheon organised by Wike in Port Harcourt, the lawmaker representing Edo North described PDP’s crisis as a football club who sold its best player to its opponent.

He said that the former governor of Rivers State’s job as the FCT minister means he would step on toes to set things right.
Oshiomhole said: “Thank you to PDP for giving us Nyesom Wike to help us fix Abuja. I don’t belong to any club, I only belong to Bendel Insurance but I listen to those who say they are Manchester United fans [and the likes]. When you are giving your best player to another club, you pay heavily.
“Tonight, we are celebrating a Nigerian who is adding value to the FCT; who is showing there has to be the rule of law and that we must respect certain environmental laws.
“So, thank you for what you are doing in Nigeria; thank you for what you are doing in Abuja.”
INFORMATION NIGERIA reports that due to zoning of presidential candidate before 2023 presidential election, Wike insisted that a southerner must be PDP’s candidate.
Unfortunately, the victory of former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, at the party’s primary led to factions and creation of G-5 governors, who eventually worked for President Tinubu of the rulling All Progressives Congress.
