The Anti-Cultism Squad of the Nigeria Police Force, Cross River Command, has apprehended two suspected drug dealers on Old Market Road in Ugep, Yakurr Local Government Area.
Gyogon Grimah, the State Police Commissioner, told reporters on Friday that the arrest was successful due to reliable intelligence and the squad’s rapid raid of the area.
Grimah stated that Bassey Bassey, 21, and Christopher Okoi, 23, were arrested following the raid.
He stated that an on-the-spot search was carried out, during which substances believed to be hard drugs were discovered in the suspects’ possession.

He said, “other items recovered include one laptop, three Android phones, two power banks, one scale, one MP3 player and a cash sum of N1.3 million.”
The CP stated that the suspects confessed to the crime and that an extensive investigation was underway to identify the sources of supply.
He added that the suspects would be charged immediately after the investigation is completed.
