Nollywood actor and comedian, Ayo Makun, known professionally as AY Comedian, has expressed frustration over the lack of support from his peers in the entertainment industry.
Over the weekend, AY premiered his much-anticipated film, The Waiter, which stars Regina Daniels, Seyi Okanlawon, Toke Makinwa, and himself.
Despite the excitement surrounding its release, the film faced a disappointing reception, and Makun took to X on Monday, to share his dissatisfaction.

In his post, Makun criticized how men in the industry often back only those with specific physical attributes, such as large breasts and curvy figures, while overlooking those who put in significant effort to stay relevant and maintain their responsibilities.
He also proudly mentioned that he remains one of the few filmmakers still persevering in the industry.
He wrote, “One day man go tell man “wetin man do man”. We work so hard to stay relevant and take care of our responsibilities. Must we have breast and yansh to have the support of our fellow men?
I am still the only man left in the business of filmmaking who is yet to give it all up. THE WAITER is a beautiful movie. I will continue to PERSONALLY push it with my full chest in cinemas nationwide. I am too legit to quit.”
