The Federal Capital Territory Command of the Nigerian Correctional Service has issued stern warning to its officials against unruly behaviour during the festive season.
In a statement by the command’s Spokesperson, Adamu Duza, on Tuesday, disclosed that FCT NCoS, strengthened security measures at custodial centres within its facility.
Adamu noted that officers are cautioned against behaviours that undermine the rules governing correctional practices, such as trafficking, incitement, and laxity, and urged them to remain steadfast in their duties throughout and after the Christmas celebrations.

Meanwhile, during an oversight visit to the Medium Security Custodial Centre in Kuje, Abuja, the Controller of Corrections, Olatubosun Ajibogun, on Monday, emphasised the importance of maintaining vigilance and adhering to professional standards.
The statement reads: “Controller Ajibogun cautioned officers against trafficking, incitement, laxity, and any unprofessional conduct during and after the Christmas celebration.
“He also urged staff and inmates to ensure strict compliance to rules and give maximum support and cooperation to their officer-in-charge, in order to maintain peace in the custodial centres.”
