“A Lot Of Resources Were Invested” – Funke Akindele Pleads Against Piracy Ahead Of New Movie Release

Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has raised alarm over the increasing threat of piracy in the film industry, issuing a strong appeal to fans.

With her latest movie, Everybody Loves Jenifa, set to hit cinemas on December 13, Funke took to her Instagram page on Wednesday to advocate against piracy, urging Nigerians to support filmmakers by rejecting illegal practices.

The award-winning actress condemned the act of recording video clips in cinemas, calling it a form of piracy that poses a serious threat to the industry.

She passionately appealed to the public to desist from it, emphasizing the damage it causes.

“SAY NO TO PIRACY!!! Recording short videos at the cinemas is piracy!!! Please stop it!!! Piracy is killing us!! I worked so hard on this project. Please, I’m pleading, do not be caught promoting piracy!!!

“A lot of resources was and is still being invested in the movie #Everybodylovesjenifa. Again, do not be caught encouraging piracy. Thank you.
