Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has described the ongoing case between socialite, Idris Okuneye and the Federal Government, as an institutional issue facing the country.

Recall that the controversial cross-dresser, popularly known as Bobrisky has been facing series of allegations, following his jail time over naira abuse.

He was overheard in a leaked audio message, claiming to have paid some officials of the Nigerian Correctional Service to get special treatment in prison.

INFORMATION NIGERIA learnt that a popular social media critic, identified as Martins Otse, a.k.a  VeryDarkMan, alleged that some officers of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission collected ₦15 million from Bobrisky during his naira spraying ordeal for the anti-graft agency to drop money laundering charges against him.

VDM also alleged that Bobrisky paid some millions of naira to secure a choice place in prison.

Speaking over the development on Tuesday’s edition of Channels Television’s Politics Today, Tunji-Ojo said that the incident is a reflection of institutional issue.

He said: “When you have an institutional problem, you don’t just provide a knee-jerk approach to solving.

“We set up that committee to look into all the issues, beyond Bobrisky, beyond people absconding, it is a whole institutional issue.

“We cannot transfer today’s problem to the future.”
