The Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle Foundation has given an unspecified amount to organizations supporting flood victims in Nigeria.
According to Sky News, in a press release, a Spotify representative confirmed the Archewell Foundation had made donations to both UNICEF and Save the Children.
The spokesperson said the donations, of an undisclosed amount, would “help provide relief following devastating floods wreaking havoc in Nigeria”.
The 2022 Nigerian floods have affected most of the West African country, displacing 1.3 million people, killing more than 600, and injuring more than 2,400.
While Nigeria typically experiences seasonal flooding, the floods are the worst the country has seen since the 2012 major flood which displaced more than 2.1 million people.
Meghan earlier this week shared her genealogy results in the latest episode of Archetypes, titled “Upending the Black Angry Woman Myth” and featuring comedian Ziwe Fumudoh.
“I just had my genealogy done a couple of years ago. I am 43 percent Nigerian,” she told her Nigerian-American guest.
The California-based royal said she doesn’t know what tribe her ancestors came from, but intended to “start to dig deeper into all of this”.
