An unkempt middle-aged man trying to stowaway in Lagos airport has been caught during a preflight inspection of a parked aircraft.
Several security agencies at the Lagos airport are currently examining how the man made his way into an aircraft belonging to United Nigeria Airlines.
During a preflight check by the airline technical staff on Sunday morning, the middle-aged stowaway man was discovered on the parked aircraft.
In a statement released by the spokesman for the Airline, Mr. Achilleus-Chud Uchegbu, he portrayed the man as a stowaway.
Uchegbu revealed that he was found in one of its aircraft parked at Murtala Mohammed Airport Terminal 2, MMA2.
He said the stowaway man who looked unkempt had been apprehended and would be interrogated.
“Aviation Security officials of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN AVSEC and that of the MM2 are on ground and investigation has opened into the security breach at the terminal”, he said.

The affected aircraft is being examined. It is also being prepared for service following the Airline’s grade A security and operating standards.
Meanwhile, the development led to the rescheduling of flights to allow investigations.
