Officers of the Nigeria Customs Service have seized 7,000 donkey penises at the Murtala Muhammed international Airport, Lagos after the odour of the shipments raised suspicion.
Reports say 16 bags containing the donkey penises were being transported to Hong Kong.
The animal parts were discovered in sacks in the animal export department of the airport, according to Sambo Dangaladima, the customs controller, who spoke to BBC.
He claimed that the bags were emitting a strong odour that suspicious customs inspectors noticed, leading them to open the containers and discover the 7,000 donkey penises inside.

A suspect connected to the package, which is worth an estimated N200 million (£416,000), managed to flee, according to Dangaladima.
Illegal commerce in donkey parts, including the skin and penises of the animal, is widespread from Nigeria to China.
China uses the animal parts to create a traditional medication known as ejiao.
