2023: NNPP Will Unseat Zulum – Kwankwaso
Kwankwaso

Presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has declared that his party will take over Borno currently led by Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, and other parts of the country in 2023.

Kwankwaso made the declaration at Maiduguri, Borno State capital, shortly after he formally commissioned the party’s secretariat on Saturday.

On Thursday, the secretariat was sealed by the Borno State Urban Development Board, but it was reopened on the instructions of the governor.

Kwankwaso said, “I want to assure you that God’s willing if you vote the governorship candidate of NNPP and three senatorial candidates, 10 members of the House of Representatives and 28 members of the House of Assembly from NNPP and the presidential candidate, I will make Borno to become like Kano State.

“This visit has shown to the world that Allah has brought the desired change; the unprecedented crowd that received our team right from the airport to the city centre is a clear indication that the people of Borno State are tired and willing to change the political equation.

“This time around is for you the youths and the rest of Borno people collectively to actualise positive change for the common good of the people. Right from the airport, I saw young men and children on the streets; some even trekked from the airport up to this venue.

“What’s on my mind is how can we return these young people and children back to school? How can we find job for these agile unemployed youths? How can we restore electricity permanently to Borno State? How can we restore peace to Northeast and other part of Nigeria?

“Those who bring backwardness in Borno state are still around the corner to continue business as usual with few people benefiting; what we want is to correct it so that every citizen of the state would benefit.

“We want to witness a permanent peace so that the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) can return to their ancestral homes, we want to build and equip schools, reopen hospitals and highways for economic development.”
