A witness, Ngozika Ihuoma, told a Federal High Court in Abuja that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) under its former acting boss, Ibrahim Magu, re-looted 222 assets worth N1.63tn.

Ihuoma who appeared in the Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday as the first defense witness in the trial of the former chairman of the disbanded PRTT, Abdulrasheed Maina told the court that the money was recovered by the disbanded PRTT.

Ihuoma said at the court that, “Magu admitted before Justice Ayo Salami Judicial Commission of Inquiry that assets recovered were distributed based on a presidential directive.

“Magu confirmed before Justice Ayo Salami that he shared and allocated a larger quantity of these properties to his colleagues, friends, and associates but could not provide evidence to support the directive from the Presidency.”

The witness who was a management consultant told the court that his firm, Crincad & Cari Nigeria Limited was hired by the defunct PRTT for consultancy service.

Ihuoma said again, “One of the choice properties the PRTT recovered and handed over to the EFCC was ridiculously undervalued from N6bn worth in 2011 and sold to a renowned lawyer in 2015 for N1bn only.
