Former lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani has called for a retaliatory flight ban on the United Arab Emirates by the federal government.
Recall that UAE barred transit flights to Dubai, as it only allows passengers to fly on direct flights to Dubai. This means that passengers originating from Nigeria to Dubai via any transit point will not be allowed to enter Dubai.

Reacting to this development, the former lawmaker expressed that if the Arab nation can ban Nigeria because of COVID-19, Nigeria should also do likewise.
He wrote: “If the UAE bans Nigeria because of #COVID19, Nigeria should ban the UAE in retaliation. If you must see #BurjKhalifa do with Burj Cocoa House Ibadan; If it’s shopping, go to Aba or Kano; If it’s desert sand, come to Sokoto.”
