Major General Ibrahim Attahiru has officially resumed as the new Chief of Army Staff.
He succeeds Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, who resigned on Monday after President Muhammadu Buhari, appointed new Service Chiefs.

The handover ceremony was carried out at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja on Thursday.
The new Chief of Army Staff will navigate the security of Nigeria alongside Major-General Leo Irabor as Chief of Defence Staff; Rear Admiral A.Z Gambo as Chief of Naval Staff; and Air-Vice Marshal I.O Amao as Chief of Air Staff.
