‘Twice As Tall’ and ‘Made In Lagos’ are the only Nigerian albums on British GQ’s Best 24 Albums of 2020 that made the year more tolerable.
‘Twice As Tall’ takes the 16th spot while ‘Made In Lagos’ places at the 17th spot.
The writers describe Burna Boy’s ‘Twice As Tall’ as an album that absolutely lives up to its name, stating that “Burna Boy’s global sound somehow got even more universally enjoyable, slickly blending Afrobeat and dancehall rhythms, R&B sensibilities, hip-hop flows and reggae’s passion into a singular sound.”

As for Wizkid’s ‘Made in Lagos, it is described as his best album yet, stating that he “combines his global vision with a focus on Yoruba, Afro-Latin and Afrobeats percussion that, as the name Made In Lagos asserts, makes the record feel like a real homecoming.”
