The presidential candidate of the Democratic Party, Joe Biden, on Monday was elected by the US Electoral College as the next president of the United States of America.
The former Vice-President in the election held on November 3 had 302 votes while Trump had 232 votes.

Biden on Monday clinched the Electoral College victory with California’s 55 votes.
Following this development, the coast is now clear for Biden to become the 46th president of the United States.
“Democracy prevailed. We the people voted…. The integrity of our elections remains intact,” Biden said in excerpts from a speech he was expected to deliver in his home city of Wilmington, Delaware later Monday.
“Now it is time to turn the page, to unite, to heal,” Biden said. “I will be a president for all Americans.”
