UNIBEN Appoints Second Female VC, 34years After Alele-Williams
A female vice-chancellor, Professor (Mrs) Lillian Salami has been appointed at the University of Benin, 34years the institution got its first female Vice-Chancellor.
Prof Salami is said to be the first alumnus of the University to become the vice-chancellor of the University.
Corps Member Didn’t Mean To Kill Almajiri Boy: Kano NYSC Coordinator
The Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Kano, Ladan Baba has dismissed reports that a corps member serving in Bebeji local government area of the state allegedly beat a boy to death.
According to an earlier report, the corps member was provoked by the deceased while rushing to collect some fruits that another corps member in the same lodge usually distributes among children.
Northern Governors Don’t Take Drug Abuse Among Youth Seriously – Torture Centre Owner
Lawal Muduru also known as Malam Niga, who owns Niga’s Rehabilitation Centre, has accused governors of northern states of being unconcerned about the youths in the region.
Muduru said this while speaking with journalists in Kaduna, adding that northern governors do not take the issue of drug abuse among the youth seriously, and that is why the problem has remained.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) says it has received a petition asking to begin an investigation into the source of the money which was carried to the home of the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on the eve of the 2019 presidential election via a bullion van.
The office of the chairman of the commission acknowledged the receipt of the petition, written by Concerned Nigerians, on Friday.
