Don’t Take Ihedioha’s Petition Against Me Seriously — Okorocha Tells IGP

Rochas Okorocha, the immediate past governor of Imo state, has asked Mohammed Adamu, Inspector General of Police, to disregard incumbent governor, Emeka Ihedioha’s petition filed against him. This was made known in a statement by Sam Onwuemeodo, his media aide, while describing  the petition as “deceitful.” He said, “We want to appeal to the Inspector General of Police to disregard the letter because it was by all standard, very deceitful and an after-thought,” the statement read.

You Can’t Judge Southeast Based On Criminal Behaviour Of 80 Igbos: Fani Kayode

Former Nigerian minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode says since the Fulani race can not be judged by the “genocidal and barbaric actions of the Fulani terrorists”, then it would be wrong to judge the Igbo race based on the criminal behaviour of 80 Igbos. The former minister was reacting to the indictment of almost 77 Nigerians, mainly Igbos, in what the FBIdescribed as the largest fraud in the history of the United States.

APC Responsible For Melaye’s Ordeal — Timi Frank

Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Comrade Timi Frank, has accused the party of being responsible for the tribunal judgement which sacked Dino Melaye as senator representing Kogi west. Frank accused the judgement as a miscarriage of justice, adding that the APC was afraid that if Melaye gets the PDP governorship ticket, he will emerge winner of the Kogi state governorship election.

I Faked Kidnap To Meet My Boyfriend In Owerri: 14-Year-Old Girl

Kosisochukwu Anioma, one of those reportedly kidnapped in Enugu last Thursday has been found by the operatives of the anti kidnap team of the Enugu Police command. According to the police spokesman, Superintendent Ebere Amaraizu,  Anioma confessed that she faked her own kidnap in order to meet her boyfriend in Owerri. Kosisochukwu, a daughter of an Enugu politician and a former aide to former Governor Chimaroke Nnamani, Frank Anioma is said to still be in custody of the police. Anioma had reported on Thursday that his daughter, Kosiso was on her way to the New Haven market when she got missing.

President Buhari Says Slavery Still Exists

Four centuries ago, the first 20 documented African slaves arrived on the shores of Virginia. In the years that followed, millions more were shipped in dehumanizing conditions across the ocean and enslaved. Slavery had, of course, existed before. But this indicated the beginning of a mechanized trade that saw human beings reduced to property on an unprecedented scale. Despite the fact that descendants of African slaves have made valuable contributions across society, they are still dealing with the effects of this poisonous legacy. They still have to navigate its everyday manifestations, such as discrimination, racism or lack of access to resources and opportunities. This must not be overlooked or forgotten.

I Will Reform Police Completely — Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari says the entire structure of the Nigerian Police Force is being overhauled, re-positioned and primed with modern technological gadgets to meet rising challenges in the country. Buhari said this while receiving traditional rulers from the North led by His Eminence, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III at the Presidential Villa. In a statement by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Chief Femi Adesina, the President said the ongoing reform of the police will include recruitment of more hands, cultivation of stronger local intelligence and networking with communities, traditional rulers and adequate training.

APC Gave Me N13m For 2019 Election — Kidnap Kingpin Wadume

Re-arrested kidnap kingpin Hamisu Bala aka Wadume, in an interview with Vanguard, gave a vivid account of his encounter with both the police and his Army Captain friend in charge of the 93 Battalion, Wukari who aided his escape after his initial arrest by the police. Wadume says he was shocked when soldiers opened fire on the Police Toyota Hiace Bus that was conveying him to the Taraba Police Command Headquarters in Jalingo, adding that he sustained bullet wounds on his right thigh after the shootings. Wadume noted that, he never asked the army captain to rescue him from the policemen who arrested him and stated further he managed to crawl out of the bullet-ridden bus, which somersaulted three times before landing into the bush.
