The former presidential aide said this via his Twitter handle on Friday, adding that former vice president’s counsel was arrested alongside his son-in-law, Abdullahi.

Protest On Abuja-Kaduna Expressway As Police Kills Commercial Driver

Abuja-Kaduna highway is currently on lockdown as commercial drivers protest the killing of their colleague by policemen. Protesting commercial drivers blocked the road with their vehicles, and according to them, the deceased was killed by a police officers close to Olam Chicken Feed Company while en route Kaduna in the early hours of Friday. Speaking on the matter, Samuel Aruwan, the state commissioner for internal security, said efforts are being made to clear the gridlock.

Reno Omokri, a former presidential aide has also reacted to the killing of three police officers by army officers in Taraba state. The army in its statement said it’s officers mistook the deceased police officers for kidnappers, while the police have maintained that it’s personnel were intentionally killed by the soldiers. The police have continued to lament that the deceased officers were one of its best, and had been involved with operations that led to the arrest of many high profile criminals including ‘Evans’, the billionaire kidnappers.

Nigerians React As Police Accuse Army Of Deliberately Killing Its Men

Nigerians have taken to Twitter to react to the ongoing back and forth between the Nigerian police and Army after some personnel of the latter opened fire and killed some personnel of the former in Taraba state. The army in its response had said its officers mistook the deceased police officers for kidnappers while the police have accused the Army of deliberating killing its personnel and freeing a high profile criminal.

Sowore’s Detention Falls Below International Standard — Ohanaeze

The Igbo apex socio-cultural group, Ohaneze Ndigbo, has called for the release of publisher of SaharaReporters Omoyele Sowore, arrested and detained by the Department of State Services last Saturday. Sowore is the main organiser of the #RevolutionNow protest which was scheduled to hold on August 5 nationwide.
