Popular Nigerian dance hall singer, Daddy Showkey real name, John Asiemo has urged the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) to release musician Naira Marley real name Azeez Fashola.
The singer made the appeal via his Instagram page, in a video that has now gone viral.
“A lot of una dey call me because of Naira Marley, una dey say I nor wan put mouth for Naira Marley matter. “ Me, I nor go put my mouth for where small pikin dey insult em elders and some people dey try to make the elder look stupid when he dey talk the truth.
“But I go only talk say pikin no go bad, we go say make dem kill am. We go find a way to save am… “Me, I go beg the EFCC make dem temper justice with mercy make dem look around way to go about this investigation because this young man just dey grow.
“Make em take this one to learn a lesson, make me know as he goes put em mouth for word,’’ he said. “Temper justice with mercy. This is just a young man growing up.
Let’s not use his mistakes to spoil his career we all went through so many things growing up…. “We can use him as a spokesman to young people against crime @officialefcc maybe he will learn with this #showdonsho,’’ Daddy Showkey wrote.
Naira Marley was arrested by operatives of the EFCC on Friday, May 10, 2019, in company of Zlatan Ibile and three others.
Whereas on Tuesday, the anti-graft agency released Zlatan Ibile and three others on administrative ground while Marley was held back over overwhelming evidence against him.
